Omis
Omis Riviera Beaches
Omis
Riviera stretches for 35 kilometers along a coast south
of Split. It is a stretch of coast of exceptional beauty,
with many beaches and bays, steep cliffs and a crystal clear
sea.
The Omis Riviera is known for its large sandy beaches, especially
between Omis and Dugi Rat. The Cetina river, with its magnificent
canyon cut into the picturesque mountainous massif in the
very background of the town, is to be "blamed"
for that, because the river waters constantly bring new
sand.
One
of the most known sandy beach is placed in the village of
Duce, a small seaside resort. It is a magnificent,
nearly continuous sandy beaches, about 4 km long, where
you can enjoy lying in the sun or sitting in the shade of
its pine and tamarisk trees.
Omis itself has a popular sandy public beach, lined up with
many restaurants, cafes and stores. It is a 1 kilometer
long beach with long and warm shallow waters great for children's
play.
