Klimno Bay
The
bay of Klimno (or the cove of Soline as some call it) is
placed in the eastern part of the island of Krk. Three small
settlements are situated in the bay: Klimno, Soline and
Cizici. Krk island is connected with the mainland by a spectacular
bridge. You can reach Klimno if you turn left to Dobrinj
on the main road, after Omisalj and Njivice.
Klimno bay has several sandy beaches.
Meline,
placed in the western side of the gulf, is one of the most
beautiful sandy beach on the Island of Krk. It is about
400 m long and 40 m wide, and known for its healing mud.
You can walk there hundred of meters while the sea is still
up to your knees. That makes Meline an interesting destination
for the families with small children and for young people
who want to play ''picigin'', football or volleyball. There
are two playgrounds for volleyball and one for football,
a small bar. There is absolutely no shade so bring something
for sun protection.
Soline bay is located between Klimno, Cizici, Soline
and Meline. Here was located salt-pan during the ancient
times. Around the bay are located many private apartments
for accommodation of guests. This bay is phenomenom because
the level of sea in whole bay is maximum 1 meter high and
water is warm almost 6 months in a year. Bay is rich with
healthy mud.
Komoriska beach is situated at the beginning of Klimno
village. It is a small beach, 30 m long and 5 m wide with
the fine sea sand, the same as in Meline. The advantage
of Komoriska in comparation with Meline is a deep shade
owing to near dense pine wood.
If you want something really peaceful we suggest the beach
of Slivanjska, near Rudine. The beach has a fine
sea sand, the transparence and the pleasant temperature
of the sea. The beach is accessible by sea or by land.
