Lapad Beach
  Lapad
beach (or Uvala Lapad meaning Lapad Bay) is the largest
beach in Dubrovnik and is located in Lapad bay, very close
to the Lapad walking Zone and in the near vicinity of several
hotels, many restaurants, cafe bars, tennis courts, children
playgrounds. Lapad peninsula is regarded as one of the most
beautiful parts of Dubrovnik. Many pebble and rocky beaches,
car-free areas, nice walking paths along the sea, cafe bars
and restaurants, make it a great accommodation choice for
guests coming to Dubrovnik.
On the Lapad beach there is a restaurant and two cafe bars.
The beach is equipped with showers and changing cabins,
sun umbrellas and deck chairs. The swimming area is supervised
by life guards and is protected from boats and water bikes.
This is one of the sandy beaches where you can spend a day
enjoying natural tree shade.
Most of the hotels that are located at the Lapad bay have
private beaches which are partly open to the public, Adriatic,
Vis, Splendid, Libertas and Bellevue south of Lapad main
beach and Neptun to the north.
Adriatic is a small and romantic beach made of concrete.
A bit further there is a Vis pebbly beach with beach
restaurant and a coffee bar. There are often beach and cocktail
parties organized. Vis beach offers sea kayaks to rent which
is a great way to explore all Lapad area beaches. After
Vis comes Splendid beach, a small pebbly beach surrounded
by cliffs. A good place for those who want to escape crowds.
Next is Vila beach. This is an attractive sandy beach
especially popular among young people who play Picigin in
shallow water. Picigin is a group game played usually in
knee deep water with a small fist sized ball. The goal is
to keep the ball from falling into the water.
Next to Vila another rocky/concrete beach is situated with
jet ski rental.
Neptun beach, north of Lapad's main sandy beach,
is a pretty rocky beach with all amenities that comes with
a hotel, like deck chairs rental, two pools, beach restaurant
and cafe bar etc. You can find your own isolated spot on
the beach there and feel as if there is no one around. And
for all of you romantic souls, this beach is a perfect sunset
watching place.
