Croatia's best diving spots

Elafiti
St. Andrew wall

The Elafiti islands, opposite Dubrovnik at the southern end of the country, with the beautiful, sandy beaches, are approx. 20 minutes by boat from Dubrovnik. There are fourteen islands in the Elafiti group. Only three of them are inhabited (Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan).
Three miles from the island of Kolocep,, 2M from Lopud and 4M from Sipan, Sv. Andrija (St. Andrew) lighthouse was built in 1873 on the top of the islet with the same name. The islet is about 400 m long, 80 m wide and completely covered by pine trees. The lighthouse has two apartments that can be rented. The most beautiful place to dive is the outer wall of the island. There is a magnificent underwater wall descending almost vertically from 3m to 78m. Various fish, corals and algae cover the wall. At 26 m there is a cave and if you have adequate equipment and experience to go deeper than 50m you'll be able to see famous red coral, used by locals for jewelry making.
Location is suitable for both beginners and advanced categories.
